Welfare
At Velocity we aim to provide an environment where everyone can flourish, developing socially and emotionally in addition to developing physical skills. All of our staff who are over the age of 16 are DBS checked. All staff receive safeguarding training. Our welfare policy is available in our combined policy document, available in the documents section of our website. Also available in the documents section are some the the British Gymnastics policies which we adopt such as hydration and weighing gymnasts policies.
We have a team of trained welfare officers, lead by Emily. If you have any welfare concerns that you would like raise with the team, please use one of the options below:
- Speak to you/your child's coach or reception who can direct you to a welfare officer (if present) or arrange a phone call.
- Call the main club line on 01642 988 009 to speak to reception and request to speak to a welfare officer. If you leave a voicemail, please don't include any confidential details as staff from outside the welfare team may check the voicemails.
- Use the contact form at the bottom of the page which will send your form to the shared mailbox of our welfare team.
- Email welfare@velocitysports.org.uk which is a shared mailbox monitored by the welfare team.
If you believe a child is in danger and you are unable to speak to us immediately, please call the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000 or the Police on 999.
